On 16 January, Big Improvement Day 2024 will take place, an event where thought leaders, entrepreneurs and policymakers will exchange inspiring ideas. Easly CEO Jeroen de Jong is one of the speakers. Together with Pantea Kiani of partner Pangenix, he will talk about the new breakthrough pharmacogenetics test, which will be rolled out by Easly in early 2024.
The organisers of Big Improvement Day call the event the positive counterpart to Budget Day. Because for one day, the focus is on what is going well and how things can get even better. At the event, the public and private sectors come together to build a better future. Moreover, BID is a valuable networking opportunity for participants.
New pharmacogenetics test
The theme of the Big Improvement Day 2024 is DOEL: Sustainability, Entrepreneurship, Education and Leadership. A varied line-up of speakers will share their views on these four domains. This time, speakers include Antje Monteiro (founder Fit at Home), Prince Constantijn van Oranje-Nassau (Special Envoy Techleap.nl) and Aaike van Vlucht (CEO VSParticle). Of course, BID founder Ralph van Hessen will also address the audience.
Easly CEO Jeroen de Jong also climbs the platform, along with Pangenix CEO Pantea Kiani. What will he talk about?
‘During BID, new ideas take centre stage, so my presentation will also focus on innovation,’ says De Jong. ‘I will talk about pharmacogenetics, a way of DNA testing that allows us to analyse genes that determine how people react to drugs. With this insight in hand, the adequate dosage can be determined together with a doctor. Because you can prevent overdose, this is cost-saving. Not just individually; on a macro scale, it is potentially millions that can be saved in healthcare. We will roll out the new product in early 2024, following the pilot we are running together with Pangenix.’

Great ideas and angles
Big Improvement Day also provides an opportunity to highlight Easly’s commercial high-end test kits, says De Jong. ‘But at the end of the day, Big Improvement Day is primarily a day of inspiration. I hope to hear some great ideas and perspectives again and make some good, new contacts.”
Big Improvement Day 2024 will take place on 16 January at the AFAS Theatre in Scheveningen. A day earlier, on 15 January, the BID Advisory Council Dinner 2024 will be organised at the same venue. More information about the event and participation can be found at: www.bigimprovementday.org.
